Life is moving to FAST!!!!

Well here we are almost the first day of spring. I love spring. We went to Arizona this past weekend thinking that Jason was going to be sworn into his union but lo and behold everyone is out working so they did not have enough members there to vote him and the other 3 newbies in. But Maddey and I had a blast! We went to the Dam by Lake Powell and also to Bryce Canyon and got some totally awesome pictures as well! Road trips are getting easier the older Maddey gets. The hardest part is leaving the bunnies and Puppy Dog. We are looking for a new place to live as our lease is up the end of May and the owners are coming back from Germany! I really hate moving! We have 3 couches and 2 beds and lets not forget about the garage!

Jason and I are going through things and selling on Ebay and donating to charity alot! We have totally decided that we have entirely to much stuff for 3 people! I have been busy starting the aprons and Lucy wraps full time. It's fun, but you cannot take a day off! I want this to be succesful but sometimes lack the ambition it takes to continue every day! I used to love to sit and sew and now it seems slightly like a chore.

Jason, Maddey and I were all out running errands and I decided that I drastically needed a haircut and my eye brows waxed. I love my haircut....I decided to go cheap and noticed a sign that said $6.99 on a new salon as we were passing by and thought well at least I won't have to have my bangs in my eyes anymore! Boy was I surprised! Although I ended up spending around $26.99 for all my services...I also got it styled what the hell and then $10.00 for the waxing and voula I am a new woman. now I need my hair colored. I was so amazed that I got a great cut for so little!

I am sitting here typing on the computer, while I should be sewing the apron for Maddey's class basket for the art auction coming up! I am such a procrastinator!!!!!

I just slathered stuff on the boy's feet because of the cracking of the skin on his feet. They hurt but he doesn't like pedicures or lotion so I had to shop for something to fix things. I finally found it at of all places Bed, Bath and Beyond. So I am making him just sit there with his feet up and he is hating every minute of it. Poor Baby!

The new car is great so much better than the van...I am actually looking forward to visiting Jason and driving 2 hours every other weekend!

I seriously hate buying a new car! It's not even new just new to us....the fact that we are in a recessiona dn they are being so tight on credit is so not helping! You have to jump through so many hoops to get anywhere! We are spring cleaning this week and getting ready to ship Jason off to Carbon County at the beginning of next month for work for around 4 to 6 weeks. I hate when he is gone that long but the money is so great when he is gone that long. Maddey is so excited for Valentine's Day it's not even funny. Her and I bought Monster Jam tickets for Jason for Christmas and it happens to land on Saturday (i.e. Valentine's Day) so it was like 2 gifts in 1, I love those!

I have a pork roast in the oven, it smells so good! I love Martha Stewart as all of you probably already know, and in her Living magazine this month they had the best recipe for pork roast, with fresh thyme, rosemary and Sage mixed with Garlic and olive oil smeared all over the roast and it looked so good that I immediatly thawed out this great roast that one of Jason's co-workers Mike (or as Jason calls him Boomhauer) who is from Wyoming and stayed with us for a month or so while working out here in Utah last summer and slaughtered one of his neighbors pigs for him and gave us this wonderful pork raost to eat and it smells divine. Paired with some new potatoes and corn on the cob I might have a new "Last Supper" request.

Speaking of last supper requests did anyone see last nights Top Chef on Bravo? I can't believe they sent Leah home I totally thought Stefan should go, over cooked Salmon yucky and he is an arrogant horses behind! But bravo for Carla! She scares me with her eyes and the faces she makes sometimes but way to show that caterer's can do it too!

The bunnies are looking for new homes, well not all of them but some. 9 is to many and we are moving in a few months and cannot move 9 bunnies! Jason is sad but I also think relieved. He hates to travel so much and have me take care of so many rabbits. They are cute but some are mean.

The girl tripped over the dog today...it was funny but not funny if you know what I mean. The dog came running just as she turned around to walk into the kitchen and tripped right over Lucy and fell down and twisted her wrist as she fell. Lucy had no idea what was going on. So yes funny, but no not funny.

Taxes are done, boy was that a pain in the ass! It took 2 days and lots of hunting because the boy has no idea where to put any receipts, even though I have a special folder for when he gets back and one for when he is gone. I am on the cusp of being organized. I try really hard and then they are both home for the weekend and all the work that I did during the week is completely gone. I am trying to sort through and get rid of things before we move. Donating to the women's shelter so far 3 bags of my clothes and 5 bags of clothes and shoes that are to small for the girl. My desk unfortunately looks as though a tornado hit it. I am going to redo all our files this week.

Sunday's are Best

Well here it is another Sunday! I love this day, Jason is off of work 90% of the time on Sunday and we usually get the house cleaner, (it's never clean these days), do some other fun things like watching a movie grocery shopping and menial tasks that we all hate to do! Like I said I am designing vintage style aprons, while doing this my sketching skills need let's call it work! So here I am at 6:30 am on this glorious day while Jas and Maddey snore the morning away, sketching some ideas always changing and erasing thinking I can do better. Well I got bored and decided to write a little note! I have a birthday coming up in a mere 2 months or so. I am only turning 34 but I think it is worse than being 30. Down with a back injury for just shy of 2 years and now feeling almost human I wonder, what the hell do I want to do? Do I want to find some meaningless job or really make a go for it witht the catering, or something different? We are surviving just fine with just Jason's paycheck but my God another paycheck would be nice! But I love to cook! But what if I fail. All the bad thoughts of my Mother and others come rushing back into my head at a very ferocious speed. What if???? Am I a bad person? Do I not deserve success? Everyone I see that is at the level of success I yearn for is a workaholic, I cannot leave Maddey for long hours of the day and expect someone else to be there for the not so important things. Jason travels alot in spring and summer so I could not work long hours. Maddey already misses her Dad for those times and not to mention the fact that we do love to travel to see him on the weekends while he is gone. Is there a part-time job that would let me work during school hours and let me off on the weekends and maybe a Friday or Monday here or there if we need a long wekend with Jason. Easier asked then answered! I suddenly feel the need to show Maddey that I am a Mom who loves her and also a women that needs something outside of the house and still has the need to be successful and praised for more than wow Mom you really can whoop butt on a load of Laundry! Okay I am rambling! Well if anyone has all the answers, please pass them on at least to me! I promise I will not share unless you let me! Bye for now!!!!

The Title

The title of our blog "Life not so simple", really has nothing to do with our day-to-day life. We are a happy blended family. We are a household of 3 last names and lots of fun. For those of you that know us skip the next part!

Jason - Boilermakers Union - love of Stephanie's life, Favorite Daddy of Madelyne and just awesome person. He grew up in Davis County, Utah. He loves Monster Trucks and R/C Cars. He really loves loud obnoxious music that drives Stephanie nuts. He is an accomplished drummer although not in a band right now becasue of all the traveling with work. Jason also has a weird but unique fetish with his bunny rabbits! Popey, Sophie, Cinnabun, Mr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde, Mr. Bennington, Bugsy, Merlin and Fernando. That's right folks count them 9 Rabbits.

Stephanie - Caterer, Vintage Apron Designer/Maker - Maddey's favorite Mom (okay her only Mom, I'll take them where I can get them). I grew up in Southern CA, Orange County to be exact. I love anything vintage! Doris Day, and Johnny Cash are 2 singers the world should all know and love! I like country music too (SHHHHH, don't tell my sister, she hates it!) . I stay at home and try to have time to sew, clean the house and cater whenever asked.

Madelyne - Student - 8 - favorite girl named Madelyne Jane to everyone! Born in SLC, UT. She loves her puppy, Lucy, her guinea pig named Sugar and all of her Bunnies (Dad takes care of the rabbits but Maddey is the reason we started! We could of just started with a dog and not of even started with the rabbits, boy Jas messed up!) She loves the Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montanna, Miley Cyrus and The Cheetah Girls. Maddey is a dare devil trying to give her Mom a heart attack! She loves to climb every tree, and skatebard and just Skate. She is in Soccer and really wants to do dance, ballet she thinks. She goes to a preporatory academy in Davis County, UT right now. She is learning Spanish a requirement at the school. She gets high grades and is adored by her friends.

The Fam Damily - Layton, UT - Our family was established January of 2003. We love each other and Jason and I are looking forward to actually tying the knot in the next year or two. My sister Kim will be the Matron of Honor and Jason's best friend Kip will be the Best Man and probably also do the honor of marrying us! We are very different but can't imagine being anywhere without each other. We are looking to hopefully move out of state this summer, we don't know where yet but want to leave Utah Please!!!!

Daily life so far this year 2009!
We both voted for Barack Obama so we are very happy and look forward to the changes that will be happening. My Grandma would not have understood why we voted for him (she is so old school), but I like to think of him as a person that will change our country for the better. When Obama speaks I get goosebumps, he has a passion for change and I love that and want to embrace it and especially hope to become a better person because of his leadership!

Look weekly or maybe even daily for updates!
